BILL QUAY COMMUNITY FARM ASSOCIATION CITY FARM PLACEMENT OPPORTUNITIES

Bill Quay Farm is a 25 acre city farm on the edge of Gateshead. We are home to pigs, sheep, goats and ponies and a small mammal area with a wide rangeWP_20160630_10_21_19_Pro.jpg of small exotic animals.

We have a large space in which we grow vegetables, herbs, fruit and cultivate the land, as well as learning about indigenous plants and trees.

As well as providing a recreational space for our community Bill Quay Farm is also able to provide the opportunity for health, social and educational care

services for a range of vulnerable groups of people including adults and children with learning diffiulties, mental health concerns and other support needs. We

PB190740.JPGare now proud to be able to provide supervised and supported placements in horticulture, animal care and craft workshops of farming related activities on a regular basis as part of a structured care, rehabilitation and therapeutic alternative to inpatient care. We are a unique service, Bill Quay Community Farm being the only one of its kind in the borough.
